Leadership
Doug Schweikhart
CEO
Doug Schweikhart has vast executive experience in private sector and military institutions, across healthcare, university, and consulting organizations. He specializes in strategic planning and execution, financial and organizational turnarounds, contract negotiations, and service and operational excellence.
Prior to entering the executive ranks, Doug was a healthcare IT consultant with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), then transitioned to the corporate headquarters of the Shriners Hospitals, where he established the first performance metrics and for the system’s 22 hospitals.
Doug was then named CEO of their Intermountain (Salt Lake City) hospital. After successfully building and transitioning into two hospitals (the first at Shriners), tripling the profitability of a for-profit specialty hospital, then saving a not-for-profit, critical access hospital from closure, Doug joined the Navy as an Medical Service Corps Officer. He served 20+ years in progressively responsible leadership positions across domestic, international (South Korea, Kuwait, and Central America), and at-sea healthcare and university settings.
Simultaneous to his naval service, Doug developed and taught the University of North Florida’s undergraduate healthcare strategic planning course as an adjunct instructor.
Doug re-entered the private sector as the chief of staff of a small, but rapidly growing, consulting firm, where he set the organization up to succeed as a large business, through branding, process standardization, and business excellence certification.
